How can I get the metronome to sound?
Go to Options > Project | Metronome. Make sure that the Recording box
is checked.
If you want to hear the metronome from your computer case, check 'Use
PC Speaker'. This option will only work if your motherboard has a built in
speaker which most new motherboards no longer have.
If you wish to hear the metronome from your computer sound card and
attached speakers, check 'Use MIDI note'. You'll need to use a wavesynth
or your
external synth for the metronome. If you don't have a Wave synth
showing up under Options | MIDI devices then try this:
Go to Options | Audio | Advanced. Put a check in the box that
says"Always Use MME Interface" then press OK. Restart the program and let
the Wave
Profiler Test your hardware. You should have more devices showing up
under Options | MIDI Devices including a wave synth. The downside to this
is
the loss of WDM audio performance and low latency.
There's no way to use the metronome with a DXI, but here's a good
plugin to try out:
